This pack contains five unique and historically accurate VFA-127 aggressor liveries hand painted in a desert camouflage pattern. VFA-127 Desert Bogeys was a Navy aggressor squadron which operated the F/A-18A fr om 1992 to 1996 after which they transitioned to the F-5. They were stationed at NAS Fallon where they provided adversary training for Pacific coast squadrons.

These were the only F/A-18s ever flown by VFA-127, this pack represents the squadron circa 1993. Included in the download are aircraft numbers 01, 02, 03, 04, and 06. Each camouflage livery has been individually hand painted making each one unique. The skins feature flags of either Cuba, Libya, or Iraq, and include details such as false intakes painted on the leading edge extension and on the side of the fuselage intended to mimic those of a Mig-29. This pack also includes tan flight suits as well as white helmets with the velcro patch and accurate squadron patches. The BuNo of each aircraft is historically correct, also included are the matching illuminated BuNo's in the cockpit.

Although the names on each of the aircraft belong to real VFA-127 pilots from this time period, exactly which of the squadron's planes they are painted on may not be correct. They also flew the F/A-18A, not the C model. This pack should therefore be considered semi-historical. Note: These aircraft are almost always pictured without any pylons or fuel tanks, so I have kept them the standard gray color. I have included a couple different designs of alternate fuel tanks in the pack which have the same camouflage pattern as the aircraft if realism is not your number one priority. Simply go into each livery's folder and swap the

[ALTERNATE] in the filename from one fuel tank texture file to the other.

INSTALLATION: Copy the five different VFA-127_0X folders included in the download into your DCS World OpenBeta/CoreMods/aircraft/FA-18C/Liveries/FA-18C_hornet folder. These skins are available for both the US and US Aggressor factions in game.

Situation:

On the 2nd of December 2018. Carrier Strike Group 3 sailed into the U.S Fifth fleets area of operational control, The Persian Gulf.  Shortly after entering the Gulf, one of the Pilots From VFA-151 (Vigilantes) Was overcome by an undiagnosed medical condition. The Pilot was medevac’d to Al-Dafra Air-force base and is unlikely to re-join the carrier air wing. You have been transferred from Naval Air Station Lemoore to integrate into the Vigilantes. 

During this mission, you will perform a FAM Flight (familiarisation Flight) Throughout the Persian Gulf AO. Rendezvous with Springfield, (flight of 2x F/A-18’s) They have been sent to escort you back to the Stennis. You will carry out Air to Air refuelling operations over UAE airspace before proceeding along the coast to rendezvous with the Carrier Strike Group Off the Coast of Oman. During this mission you will become familiar with the Real-World tactical situation in The Persian Gulf.

Tasking:

• Fly in formation with Sprinfield flight.
• Conduct aerial refueling operations.
• Stay in formation with SpringField during FAM Flight
• Perform Case 1 recovery aboard the Stennis.

An F/A-18C mission using the HARM AGM-88C missile. In this mission you can practice using the HARM AGM-88C against SAM radars. 

The previous day's raid over Fujairah International Airport severely reduced REDFORs ability to defend the area from further air attacks. Today's mission starts with you, Pontiac 1-1, launching from Al Minhad AB and proceeding west to destroy two SA-6 radars (6 on RWR) and one SA-19 Tunguska (S6 on RWR). A SA-8 (8 on RWR) is located in airport area although its precise location is unknown.

We’ve already made many fixes for the next update. Some of these include:

• Corrected roll based on crosswind.
• Ghost SA contacts fixed.
• Adjusted Link-16 frequency to not conflict with TACAN and IFF.
• Unknown contacts no long longer have HUD diamond, denoting hostile.
• SA TDC now has highest rendering order.
• SA TDC and data values are now the correct, yellow color.
• Contacts that are ownship and donor hostile identified now have caret HAFU on HUD.
• NCTR can also now print targets from 30-degree rear aspect using JEM.
